Hannah – Barista

Hannah is a rising Senior at The Maggie L. Walker Governor's School for Government and International Studies, a regional magnet school.    Hannah has played on the Varsity Softball team since her freshman year.   When not involved with school or working at Whisk, Hannah enjoys time with her friends and family, especially Zelda, her pet rabbit.

Jenny – Head Barista / Guest Services Manager

After graduating from VCU with an English major and a Creative Writing minor in the Spring of 2020, Jenny moved back to her hometown and started her first experience handling coffee at her neighborhood coffee shop. Little did she know that her interest in coffee would soon grow into a greater passion to strive for higher knowledge of the art. The peak of her interest brought her back to Richmond to further her path in learning more about the coffee shop business. Jenny loves coffee for its detailed craft and heartwarming intention to please all coffee-loving customers. She dreams of opening a coffee shop of her own someday in the future and absolutely loves that she has the opportunity to practice her love for coffee diligently here at Whisk.

Jenny loves making coffee at Whisk but also enjoys other hobbies outside of work. A few of her favorite activities include visiting other coffee shops, practicing latte art, reading fictional works, writing poems, listening to music, and staying indoors on rainy days with her cat.

Meg – Baker



Meg was born and raised in Charlotte, NC. She moved to Richmond after graduating from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Meg has a degree in elementary education but realized after graduation that baking was her true passion. Meg has found the best of both worlds by heading the macaron classes here at Whisk. 

Outside of baking at Whisk, Meg has many hobbies. She loves to roller-skate, craft, develop film photography, and play animal crossing. Meg also loves to eat out at all of the amazing local restaurants in Richmond. She recently adopted a sweet black cat named Kuzco.

Jonie – Baker

Jonie has always had an interest in baking, starting out with baking and decorating birthday cakes for her family. She has gained more professional experience, and uses new techniques to carry on the tradition. Now working at Whisk she has the opportunity to do what she loves most: creating and trying out new recipes.

Kate – Baker

Kate’s love for baking began at a very young age when her grandmother brought her into the kitchen to share her “secret” cookie recipe she only brought out at Christmas. That recipe turned out to be a pretty basic shortbread but Kate carries on her grandma’s tradition by making them for her family every year.

After trying out a couple of different career paths Kate finally realized doing what she enjoys matters most and has been baking professionally ever since. Learning new techniques and trying out different recipes is one of Kate’s favorite things about baking and Whisk, which specializes in French patisserie, has been the perfect place for that.

Billy Bryan – Owner / Whisker In Chief

Since winning the Farm Bureau baking competition at age twelve, Billy always knew that one day he would own a bakery.   After a successful career as an Organizational Management Consultant, he decided to return to culinary school to pursue his dream.   He holds the certification of Commercial Retail Baker.   Billy is active in his local community, supporting various charities.  He is the co-founder of Recipe for a Change, a non-profit foundation focused on providing job training for underserved individuals in the Richmond area.
